Join us as we explore the most important advances within medicine and healthcare

Book now

Scientists have been responsible for the most important advances in medicine and healthcare. This has included identifying new drug treatments, driving vaccine development, discovering antiseptics, and unlocking the secrets of our genes. Our scientific experts will take you on a hands-on journey through several of these advances. Within the setting of our bioscience laboratories, you will examine your own microbiome, analyse some DNA, and look at what’s in blood! These techniques remain central in the fight against disease within our hospitals and communities. Trained biomedical scientists are now the crucial profession tasked with using these approaches to analyse patient samples, diagnose disease, and monitor treatment response. Join us as we explore all this and more in a fun and informal fashion!

This event is suitable for those over the age of 10.
Please note that our biomedical labs have a dress code for your own safety: Please ensure that you wear long trousers, closed shoes, long hair is tied back and no bare middriff.
We also do not allow any food or drink in the biomedicine labs.
